Brendan M.
Private tutor in Winston-Salem, NC
Education
I graduated from University of Michigan with a B.S. in Biology, class of 2014 (GPA 3.7). I completed my master's degree in Biomedical Sciences at Wake Forest University in 2016 (GPA 3.8). I am currently a first-year MD student at Wake Forest School of Medicine, class of 2020.
Experience
AP Score: 33 MCAT Score (pre-2015): 33 At U of M I performed research in immunodermatology, worked as a Resident Advisor for 42 students, privately tutored in both statistics and chemistry, and taught large groups of middle school Boy Scouts art, drama, and first aid. I was very involved in the community service organization Alpha Phi Omega. Before pursuing a career in the biological sciences, I was an engineering student and struggled greatly in those classes. I had to figure out how to tailor my study habits to my own learning style and sought advice from numerous professionals on how to improve my study methods. In addition to tutoring in science, I hope to pass along what I've learned about study methods, learning styles, and how to optimize one's study time, and I will try to work with you with your own learning style in mind. I'm passionate about biology and I hope that in tutoring, I may spread that passion to others!
