Hobbies
I enjoy reading, eating, hiking, traveling, Netflix, swimming, and spending time with friends. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and almost anything else in the fantasy genre. I like Sherlock (both the Conan Doyle and BBC/Cumberbatch versions) and funny t.v. shows like Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, and The Mindy Project. I have experience working with students at almost every age and education level. As a student of medieval Irish history, I am in a constant state of learning a new language, engaging with different authors, and perfecting my academic writing skills. I am sympathetic to the struggles of beginning and intermediate students, and I am able to explain concepts to students of every learning style. For example, I understand that tactile learners require a much different approach than a visual learner, and I have learned techniques to make these concepts accessible to all students.
